چکیده

This work introduces state-of-the-art water detritiation processes and discusses the main technologies materials adopted. Focus is given to gas chromatography (GC) thermal cycling absorption process (TCAP), which are studied as potential back-end for tritium recovery through a system designed small-scale unit. GC TCAP evaluated critically in order establish their applicability final purification of DT stream recovered at bottom cryo-distillation column Both solutions (GC with an inverse column) exhibit safe feasible operation modes characterised by good technological level; furthermore, both these meet design specifications required proposed application. However, use preferred, since this can operate modest temperature producing streams (D2 T2) better purity.

Thermal Cycling Absorption Process—A New Way to Separate Hydrogen Isotopes

The thermal cycling absorption process (TCAP) is a semi-continuous chromatographic process for hydrogen isotope separation developed at the Savannah River Technology Center (SRTC) of the Savannah River Site (SRS) to support the tritium production and recycling operations for the national defense program. Hydrogen has three isotopes—protium, deuterium, and tritium. Among these, protium is known ...

Separation techniques: Chromatography

Chromatography is an important biophysical technique that enables the separation, identification, and purification of the components of a mixture for qualitative and quantitative analysis. Proteins can be purified based on characteristics such as size and shape, total charge, hydrophobic groups present on the surface, and binding capacity with the stationary phase. Four separation techniques ba...

Hyphenated Techniques in Gas Chromatography

Hyphenated gas chromatography (GC) (Chaturvedi & Nanda, 2010; Coleman III & Gordon, 2006) mainly refers to the coupling of the high-performance separation technique of gas chromatography with 1) information-rich and sophisticated GC detectors which otherwise can be mostly operated as a stand-alone instrument for chemical analysis, and 2) automated online sample preparation systems. The term “hy...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Improved Techniques for Sampling and Sample Introduction in Gas Chromatography

Sampling and sample introduction are two key steps in quantitative gas chromatography. In this thesis, a development of a previously described sampling technique as well as a novel concept for sample introduction in gas chromatography are presented. The thesis is based on two papers. Paper I describes a method for preparing physically mixed polymers for use as sorbent phases in open tubular tra...
